Populism and Heritage in Europe

On 28 November 2019 Prof. Ayhan Kaya gave an overview of his new book which was an outcome of his research for the H2020 CoHERE project (2016-2019) and the ongoing ERC-funded Prime YOUTH project. Kaya's presentation highlighted that populism in not the cause of Europe's current social, cultureal and political but rather an outcome of socio-economic difficulties. These difficulties are deployed by populist parties and leaders who exploit their voters' relative and nostalgic deprivation.
